We welcome you to the new website for the Anglican Church of St Peter Jaffa! The church was closed in 1948, but we are hoping to renew both the church building and worshipping community there. Having been called by the former Archbishop of Jerusalem, the Rt Rev Suheil Dawani, Fr Kevin Cable has been commisioned by the new Archbishop, The Most Reverend Hosam E. Naoum, to take on the ministry at St Peters, supported by his wife Jen. We are grateful to the Church Mission Society who have joined with the Diocese in sponsoring Fr Kevin and Jen. As much work needs to be done to renovate the building, and funds raised to suport this essential work, we are currently worshipping on Sunday mornings at 10am at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 15 Bar Hoffmann Street, Jaffa, while the church building is not able to be used. After the service and while we await the restoration of our own building, regular members of the congregation normally go for coffee at the Beit Immanuel Guest House, which is opposite the Lutheran Church. You would be more than welcome to join us if you wish.
As the Church of Christ is more than just bricks and mortar, and is made up of 'living stones', if you are interested in joining our worshipping community or supporting this exciting time of the church's rebirth, then please contact Fr Kevin by using the contact form on this website. To find the church building, please look at the map below.
